Q:Trend or development in your field that excites you now.

Answers to this question

  • I’m most excited about the rise of AI in video and animation production. It unlocks new creative possibilities and gives more people the tools to tell visual stories.

    • What are you able to do today that wasn’t possible before generative AI?

You can build full creative directions in a day, try different visual styles in hours, and bring non-designers into the idea phase. It opens things up, but only if you know how to shape the output.

    • How do you define “quality” in an AI-driven world? How do you explain quality to clients now?

Quality isn’t just about polish anymore. It’s about intent. With AI, anyone can create something that looks good, but what really matters is the thinking behind it.

I tell clients that quality isn’t about how real or fast something looks. It’s about how well it supports the idea, the message, and the brand.

  • A lower barrier to entry for people to create rich, compelling experiences.

Cine cameras used to be expensive, recording studios used to be expensive, CGI cost a fortune, and now all these tools are becoming accessible to so many more people. Are we going to drown in a slurry of AI slop? Absolutely – and that's the price of democratization.

    • You sound a bit skeptical about AI.

I think concerns around how AI will impact human creativity are a very pressing situation. We thought the robots would fold our laundry, but instead they’re making art, music, and video at a violently accelerating pace. Those things used to be hard, and there was value in the difficulty.

Now that it’s getting easier, what happens? Do we get more great content or just more content? Probably both. I’m not anti-AI at all, and good luck getting that genie back in the bottle, but I think we need to stay really thoughtful about what creativity means when effort is no longer a barrier.

  • The ability to bring ideas to life in ways that would’ve been impossible just three years ago, unless you had a lot of money to produce them.

    • How is human creativity different from AI creativity?

      Humans have needs, AI doesn’t.

If we understand what creativity is, then yes, AI can be creative like a human. But the key difference is that AI has no need to communicate, express, or create anything unless we ask it to.

  • I won’t say AI, even though it’s clearly a big shift. What excites me more is how it’s changing content and speeding up creative work in meaningful ways.

I’m also really interested in how tracking tools are evolving, with apps and devices like Oura and Garmin starting to integrate and give people a fuller view of their health. It feels like the start of something powerful.

  • I’m really glad AI can now handle things like work schedules and planning. It’s a time-consuming part of the job that I’m least excited about, but without it, no project can run smoothly.

  • Peptides.

    • What's so special about peptides?

Peptides are signaling molecules that tell cells what to do — like activating or deactivating receptors. For example, the well-known drug Ozempic suppresses hunger by acting on the GLP-1 receptor in the gut. Peptides can also stimulate collagen production or help repair damaged tissues, making them a powerful tool in both cosmetics and medicine.

    • Why are peptides becoming more popular in modern skincare?

They can trigger very specific biological processes. In skincare, they help stimulate the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which are essential for firm, hydrated, and youthful-looking skin. Some peptides can even support muscle tissue repair. And since they’re made of short chains of amino acids, they can penetrate the skin easily and work more effectively.

    • Are peptides a silver bullet for the skin?

Peptides aren’t a magic fix for every skin concern, but their high specificity makes them a powerful tool in the right hands. They can trigger specific processes in the skin with impressive accuracy. For example, the peptide Melanotan can even stimulate tanning without you having to leave the house!

  • I’m not the kind of person to get easily excited by trends. I prefer to get excited by things that stay in place and become building blocks of the domain after the trend passes.
